Less than two weeks to the General elections, the Nairobi Securities Exchange All Share Index (NASI) on Wednesday’s trading session touched a two year high of 158.35 points. NASI is market cap weighted index consisting of all the companies listed on the exchange.
During the session, the index was boosted by gains in 21 counters despite a drop in turnover by 38% or Sh 775 Million. Market capitalization also gained by 0.83% to close at a decent Sh 2,314.71 Billion.

- The NSE 20 Share index gained 38.57 points close at one year high of 3,768.38 points.
Safaricom (SCOM)
During the session, Safaricom touched an all time high of Sh 24.25 before settling at Sh 23.75. The counter accounted for 41.39% of the day’s total trades.
