South Sudan and Kenya have agreed to drop visa requirements for their citizens, according to the South Sudan Ministry of Foreign affairs.
The agreement was reached last week between Kenya’s Interior Minister Fred Matiang’i and his South Sudan counterpart Michael Chengjiek. This will allow citizens of the two countries to travel without paying visa fee.
Travellers between the two countries were required to pay a USD50 visa fee. That, however, will end this month, according to Mawien Makol Ariik, South Sudan’s Foreign Affairs Ministry spokesperson.
There was a meeting between South Sudan’s interior minister and his Kenyan counterpart to waiver visa fees for citizens of both countries. The committee from Kenya came to Juba to sign the agreement which will commence in October this year

Kenya becomes the third country in the East African Community (EAC), to grant South Sudan free visa-status after Tanzania and Rwanda.
