Kenya Revenue Authority has recently postponed the implementation of Excisable Goods Management System (EGMS). The system is an accounting tool for excise production and traceability of excisable goods. This postponement was to give manufacturers time to complete installation of the system before a go live date is announced.
The installation of the EGMS system on the production line is ongoing at the manufacturers’ premises and about 91% of automated lines have been installed and the remaining constitutes of the new production lines that have previously not been mapped.
