Utility provider Kenya Power has advised customers to buy enough tokens before Sunday 2nd June ahead of a planned 24-hour system interruption that will render the pre-paid service unavailable.
“We wish to inform our customers that the prepaid token vending system will be unavailable from 10:00 PM, Sunday, 2nd June to 10:00 PM, Monday, 3rd June to enable us to upgrade our systems for improved service delivery,” Kenya Power said in a statement.
Earlier this year, KPLC announced that customers should update their old meters before November. By that period, the current software running electricity meters will be outdated, and tokens keyed in them will be invalid.
