    Kenya Power appoints Ken Tarus as acting CEO, KenGen Re-Appoints Mugo

    Kenya Power and Lightening Company has announced the appointment of Kenneth Tarus as acting CEO to replace Dr Ben Chumo(above) who has exited after serving for 3 years at the helm of the company.

    Mr Tarus is currently the General Manager of Finance of Kenya Power, a position he has held since October 2014.

    He holds an MBA, a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from University of Nairobi and is a Certified Public Accountant. Before joining Kenya Power, he worked as Chief Manager, Finance at Rural Electrification Authority (REA), Head of Finance at KCA University and Head of Finance at Bank of Africa.

    Mr. Tarus is a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK), is a registered accountant at Registration of Accountants Board Kenya and is an Associate Member of Kenya Institute of Management (KIM).

    KenGen’s Board of Directors also announced the re-appointment of the Managing Director and CEO, Engeneer Albert Mugo for a further period of one year with effect from January 4, 2017.
