    Kenya Power appoints interim senior management team

    KLPC Board of Directors has appointed an interim senior management team that will run the Company pending hearing and conclusion of ongoing corruption allegation cases against previous managers. Eng. Jared Omondi Othieno, previously the acting General Manager for Street Lighting has been appointed acting Managing Director & CEO to replace Ken Tarus who was suspended.

    Imelda Bore has been appointed acting General Manager for Corporate Affairs & Company Secretary while Ambrose Lamaon has been appointed acting General Manager in charge of Finance. Other appointments include those of David Monandi, Titus Kitavi, David Mwaniki and Aggrey Machasio who will lead Human Resource & Administration, ICT, Infrastructure & Network Management and Customer Service & Regional Coordination divisions respectively on acting capacity.

    The new management team will hold the acting positions for three months during which they are expected to have concluded the ongoing restructuring process.

    “We want to encourage all stakeholders that operations of the Company will continue normally. The interim management team will be in office for three months as we conclude the restructuring programme. The government will offer all the support that is needed to continue the good work that Kenya Power is already doing in connecting new households to the grid,” said Cabinet Secretary Charles Keter.
