    Kenya Market Report 09/10/2019

    Market capitalization climbed up to 2217.37 billion when markets closed today compared to Sh 2212.50 billion yesterday but still lower than Sh 2221.42 billion when markets opened this Monday.

    Total Shares traded were 7.758,300 today compared to 7,488,700.00 traded yesterday. Equity turnover also fell further to Sh 241,300,669.00 at the end of trading today compared to Sh 326,265, 781.00 on Tuesday and Sh 430,109.672.00 on Monday this week

    The biggest gainer was Sasini Tea, whose shares rose by 9.79 per cent to trade at Sh 18.50. The top loser was CFC Bank shares which traded at Sh 9.74, a fall of 7.24 per cent.

    Safaricom remained the biggest mover, trading a volume of 3,544,700 shares, followed by Equity Bank-2,501,000, KCB 817,700, Barclays Bank of Kenya 140,400 and Coop Bank 97,900 shares.

    The NSE 20 Share index was 2,432.48, a slight drop from 2,432.40 on Wednesday. The Kenya Shilling was quoted at a mean rate of Sh 103.7806.
