The African Continental Free Trade Agreement’s vision of promoting the free flow of people and goods, boosting trade, and expanding tourism will be furthered by this initiative. The agreement was established after productive bilateral discussions between CS Mutua and Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sameh Shoukry, in Cairo.
Mutua revealed that Kenya would import fertilizer from Egypt and receive assistance for its KES 15 billion tree initiative through the construction of dams and boreholes.
In addition, he invited Egyptian investors to invest in Kenya’s public-private partnership system for infrastructure development, such as roads and light rail.
Kenya plans to utilize Egypt’s irrigation techniques to enhance food production and reclaim arid and semi-arid areas.
Moreover, Egypt has agreed to provide Kenyan students scholarships in a variety of fields, including mechanized agriculture, water, marine engineering, and health.
