Kenya is one of the fastest-growing economies in Africa and a leading investment destination for international investors. A recent survey by the Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO) revealed that the country is the most attractive destination for Japanese firms looking to invest in Africa.
35% of Japanese companies chose Kenya as their top investment location in Africa due to the country’s start-up community, the geothermal power potential, expanding infrastructure, and the big motor vehicle assembly industry.
33% of the businesses picked South Africa as their most preferred investment destination in the African continent. Other top investment locations for Japanese investors are Nigeria, Ethiopia, Ghana, Mozambique and Tanzania.
The Japanese companies questioned in the survey said that Africa has developed to a large extent as a trading partner in recent years is set to grow massively in the next five years.
