    Kenya Airways Suspends Easter flights

Kenya Airways has suspended new frequencies that it had planned during the Easter holiday between Nairobi, Kisumu, Eldoret, the coastal town of Mombasa and Entebbe in Uganda.

As a result of the directive issued by the Kenyan Government regarding cessation of movement within Kenya, Kenya Airways flights to Mombasa, Kisumu and Eldoret will be suspended effective March 29th, noon until April 09th 2021.

Those who had booked flights have been given waivers and can make unlimited changes to their tickets at no extra cost for travel in the same cabin as previously ticketed.

Customers can leave their tickets open until May 31st 2021. The new departure will be rebooked and ticketed free of charge in the same cabin for any future flight.

Customers who do not wish to take advantage of any of the rebooking options above may still submit tickets/EMDs already issued for refund.

KQ will waive refund penalties. However, due to the current situation, we ask for understanding as there will be delays in processing refund requests.

The airline had planned to increase its frequencies on these routes between March 18th and April 19th.

KQ had planned nine weekly non-stop flights between Nairobi and Eldoret, made up of 5 new weekly flights during this period.

The Kisumu-Mombasa route was to have two weekly flights from March 25th to April 11th 2021. The Entebbe-Mombasa route will comprise two weekly flights between April 01st and April 05th, 2021.

KQ Acting Chief Commercial and Customer Officer Julius Thairu said the extra flights aimed to meet a rise in demand for air travel during the Easter season.
