    Kenya Airways Board appoints a new Chief Operating Officer

    Kenya Airways Board has appointed Jan de Vegt as the airline’s Chief Operating Officer from 1st August 2016. He replaces Yves Guibert who will leave the business at the end of July 2016.

    Jan joins the airline from Air KLM’s Cobalt Ground Solutions in the UK where he is currently the Managing Director. He has more than 25 years of experience within Air France KLM.

    Jan has held positions in Cargo Operations at the Air France-KLM group including being Regional Director Operations Benelux, UK and Ireland, Regional Director South East Asia and Australia, Vice President Asia for Air France, KLM Cargo and Martinair Cargo.

    Jan was responsible for KLM Cargo operation in the UK from 1994 – 1996 and then moved on to become the head of worldwide cargo operations for KLM between 1999 and 2006. From 2006 onwards he has been VP Asia – based in Singapore – for the Cargo operation of Air France KLM.  He has a wealth of experience both from the operational and commercial side. Jan also has a Law degree (LLM).
