KenGen’s Rebecca Miano Named among Top 25 Women Showing Strong Leadership in Energy

The African Energy Chamber (AEC) has named KenGen managing director, Rebecca Miano among women showing strong leadership in energy. In the latest AEC Top 25 Movers & Shakers Watch list 2021, the number of women has jumped from 3 to 8 between 2020 and 2021.

AEC releases the Movers & Shakers watch list annually, highlighting government officials, public, and private executives impacting the way African access and consume energy.

In this case, AEC expects Rebecca Miano to make headlines in 2021 through her leadership in increasing geothermal production capacity by KenGen.

Miano’s contract was renewed in September for three years with the board praising her for spearheading the diversification strategy. Miano is credited with significantly growing KenGen’s geothermal capacity that is now the largest in Africa ad 7th globally.
