    Kathryne Maundu appointed company secretary at BAT Kenya

    The Board of Directors at British American Tobacco(BAT) Kenya has appointed Kathryne Maundu as the firm’s company secretary effective 27th June, 2020.

    She replaces Waeni Ngea who has resigned effective 26th June, 2020 following her departure from the cigarrettes manufacturer.

    Kathryne is a partner at Stamford Corporation Services LLP, part of Bowman’s Coulson Harney LLP. She is recognized as a leading expert in corporate governance matters having advised leading corporates in the public and private sector for over 15 years.

    She is a member of the Women on Boards Network, a council member of the Institute of Certified Secretaries and an Accredited Governance Auditor with the Institute of Certified Public Secretaries and an Accredited Governance Auditor with the Institute of Certified Secretaries-Kenya.

    She has been recognised as a leader in society and named as top 40 under 40 Women in Kenya. Her predecessor Waeni Ngea has held the dual position of Head of Legal and Company Secretary, was appointed to join BAT Kenya in May 2018 when the Company Secretarial role moved in-house.

    She is credited for streering the legal department through numerous business challenges and was instrumental in crafting a robust corporate governance principles for the firm.
