Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) has begun a 12-months long refurbishment and upgrade of the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport’s (JKIA) Terminal 1B and 1C, a move that seeks to enhance the airport as the preferred regional aviation hub.
Consequently, the Authority has closed the aforementioned terminals, with flight operations of 12 airlines moved to Terminal 1A and Terminal 2.
The 12-month renovation project has been estimated to cost KSh963 million. In December 2019, the Authority announced plans to repair the potholes on Wilson Airport runway, an activity that is set to cost it KSh350 million.
