Jumia customers will now pay only Kes 100 for delivery within Nairobi down from the current Kes 250. Jumia said the move is aimed at making it more cost effective for the customers to buy FMCG items from the platform and enhance customer experience while shopping online.
The company says FMCG products attracted the highest rate of repeat customers at 85% in Q1.
“We hope by reducing the delivery fee to Kes 100, our customers can now buy their everyday essentials and other small items without extra strain on their budget whilst saving more with Jumia,” said Jumia MD Sam Chappatte.
As the company continues to improve on its operations there has been immense uptake on returning customers lured by a shorter delivery time on products. Next-day-delivery service with products under Jumia Express logo enables customers receive their orders within 24-hours.
