Jumia Partners with Vision Plus Kwese to Offer Kenyans Attractive Deals

Jumia has partnered with Kwese to enable Jumia customers to stream live World Cup matches for free. Kwese, which offers paid TV services, will provide sports fans with a 30-day free subscription during the World Cup on decoders purchased on Jumia.

Jumia customers will also receive pay-as-you-watch service for three days, seven days or 30 days based on their preference. The service will be accessible on up to five devices.

Kwese decoders will sell for Sh2,499, a drop from Sh4,990 during the World Cup season.

Sam Chappatte, MD Jumia Kenya said: “We’re very pleased to once again deliver on Jumia’s promise of being the first with the latest and the best. We are confident that our customers will have the best to choose from with Jumia as their TV destination, especially during the World Cup season.”

Jumia announced the partnership amid preparations for the upcoming TV Mania campaign. The campaign intends to offer customers discounts of up to 40 percent on all televisions and audio accessories.

Vision Plus, a television brand eyeing the East African market by leveraging the Kenyan market, will sell smart televisions exclusively on Jumia for a one-month period prior to selling its products through retail stores across the country.

“We are equally excited to bring you all the 64 matches live and in HD through our Kwesé TV satellite decoder. And to ensure you do not miss a game wherever you are, Kwesé will avail all the games on up to 5 mobile devices linked to your decoder for free as long as your monthly subscription is paid up,” said Kennedy Ojung’a, General Manager, Kwesé TV.

The TV Mania campaign, which will run from May 21 to June 3, 2018, will enable Kenyans to own televisions at highly reduced prices.
