Stanbic Bank has announced the appointment of former KCB Group CEO Joshua Oigara as the new Chief Executive of Kenya and South Sudan operations, effective December 1st, 2022. Oigara will take over from Charles Mudiwa, who is retiring after a remarkable career of over 20 years at Standard Bank Group.
Joshua Oigara will report directly to Standard Bank East Africa Regional CEO Patrick Mweheire.
Joshua Oigara Achievements at KCB
Mr Joshua Oigara served as Group Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of KCB Group for 9.5 years, during which the Group grew to command a significant market share in total assets, revenue, and customer base. KCB Group’s assets crossed the trillion KES mark during his tenure as Group CEO.
Joshua led the expansion of the bank to the region with the acquisition of Banques Populaire in Rwanda (making KCB the 2nd largest bank in Rwanda), consolidation of the National Bank of Kenya and positioning KCB for market entry into the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Joshua holds an MBA with distinction In International Business Management from Edith Cowan University. Australia, a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Nairobi and is an Advanced Management Programme Graduate from INSEAD, Fontainebleau, France.
He is a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya CPA (K), a member of the Kenya Institute of Bankers (KIB) and the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK).
