    Jane Karuku Named EABL's Group Managing Director

    Jane Karuku Named EABL's Group Managing Director

    Jane Karuku has been appointed as the Group Managing Director of East African Breweries Limited (EABL) with effect from 1st January 2021. Prior to the appointment, she held the role of Managing Director of Kenya Breweries Limited since July 2015 and served on the board of EABL from 2013. Jane has more than 20 years of experience in the consumer goods industry where she worked in various leadership roles.

    Some of the senior roles she previously held include, Deputy Chief Executive and Secretary General, Telkom Kenya, Managing Director, Cadbury East and Central Africa, and Non-executive director at Barclays Bank Kenya.

    “Mrs. Karuku has been instrumental in implementing the KBL strategy that has helped the company to improve on its route to market efficiency, costs optimisation, launch of strong innovations pipeline, talent development and enhancing the company’s reputation among its stakeholders. She has also overseen the
    revival of the KBL Kisumu Brewery and various capacity and operational improvements at the Nairobi plant,” said EABL.

    Jane takes over from Andrew Cohan who has been promoted to Managing Director for Africa Regional Markets in charge of Ethiopia, Ghana, Cameroon, Angola, Indian Ocean Islands, and several other West and Central African (WACA) countries within the Diageo Africa Business.

    Jane has a Bachelors Degree in Food Science and Technology from the University of Nairobi and an MBA from the National University of California.
