IXAfrica Data Centre, a company specializing in the development and operation of hyperscale-ready data centers in East Africa, has appointed Snehar Shah as its Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
Prior to this role, Snehar Shah served as the CEO of Moringa School, an educational institution centered around technology in Nairobi. In his new capacity, Shah will transition to the position of non-executive board member and chair of the tech advisory board at Moringa School.
Snehar Shah brings an extensive and diverse 25-year career spanning multiple industries, including Telecoms, Investment Banking, Infrastructure, and Renewable Energy across various geographies, including the UK, Europe, and Africa. He has held leadership roles encompassing strategy, CFO, and general management.
In 2022, Helios Investment Partners made a significant investment of approximately $50 million in growth capital into IXAfrica. This investment is aimed at accelerating the development of IXAfrica’s Nairobi campus, further solidifying its presence in the region in addition to to the recently announced secondary data centre campus.
Snehar holds a degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Imperial College, London, as well as qualifications in Chartered Accountancy from PwC and Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
