Israel has opened a trade attaché unit in Kenya within the Embassy of Israel, the unit is expected to enhance economic, social, and cultural relations between the two nations.
The commercial office is also expected to improve relations in terms of sharing ideas, businesses, and practices. The unit is set to enable the successful resumption of direct flights between Kenya and Israel.
Kenya’s trade unit will be the third and latest opened by Israel in the continent after South Africa and Ghana.
Kenya and Israel have enjoyed bilateral relations, characterized by Israel’s involvement in agricultural projects mainly on funding and training Kenyans on irrigation projects.
It has also been helpful in security projects by giving Kenya intelligence reports to avert terror attacks and also aid the construction of a wall along the Somali border to deter terrorists.
