The Institute of Certified Investment and Financial analysts (ICIFA) has new leadership after it elected Dr. Jonah Aiyabei as the new Chairperson during the group’s AGM on 28th June. Before his election to chair the council, Jonah served as the vice chairperson of ICIFA. He takes over from Job Kihumba who was elected in June 2016 and served as ICIFA’s first Chairperson.
Dr. Aiyabei is the Executive Director of the Morendat Institute of Oil and Gas at Kenya Pipeline Company. He has a rich experience in Finance and Investments spanning over 16 years. He is also a Council member of the Mount Kenya University and a member of the KASNEB technical examination council. He is a Certified Investment and Financial analyst. Additionally, he holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration from JKUAT and an MBA from Kenyatta University.
The ICIFA council members appointed Mr. Einstein Kihanda as the Vice Chairperson of the institute. Einstein is the CEO of ICEA Lion Asset Management. He is also the Chairperson of the Fund Managers Association. He has over 20 years of experience in the investments industry. Mr. Kihanda serves in the Trade, Technology and Innovation Committee at the Nairobi Securities Exchange and in the Professional Standards Committee at ICIFA.
Einstein is an MSc graduate from the University of Strathclyde in Scotland as well as an MSc graduate in Management and Organizational Development from USIU.
Other members of the ICIFA Council include the CEO Diana Muriuki, Judith NyaKawa, Dr. Nicholas Letting, Geoffrey Odundo, Duncan Elly Ochieng, and Catherine Theuri.
