    ICPAK Ushers in New Council.

The Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya recently welcomed a new council after an election earlier this year. The new council is led by CPA Rose Wairimu Mwaura, the first chairlady of ICPAK. Rose is a Deloitte Partner with over two decades of experience in Audit and advisory partner as well as vast local and international experience in private and public sectors. She served the institute as a council member and a Vice-Chairperson, contributing majorly to growing ICPAK’s brand and strengthening Mutual Recognition Agreements to ease the transfer of CPA skills for members who intend to practice in other countries.

As the 23rd Chairperson of the institute, Rose aspires to enhance the institute’s service delivery efficiency, enhance regulations and member protection, create opportunities for ICPAK members with special focus on young and female accountants. She also plans to drive the institute’s devolution by empowering branch leadership in decision making.

Other new appointments into the council include the election of FCPA George Mokua – Vice Chairman, CPA Olick Risper – Council Member, FCPA Dr. Nicholas K Letting- Council Member and CPA Elizabeth Ntaambi Kalunda – Council Member.
