ICIFA (Institute of Certified Investment and Financial Analysts) has notified its members of intentions to award Fellowships and Commendation to its members in good standing.
Also receiving recognition are those who have rendered exemplary service to the Financial and Investment Services Industry.

Who is ICIFA?
ICIFA is the professional Investment and Financial Analysts’ body mandated by law to regulate Kenya’s Investment and Financial Analysis profession. It is the only body authorized by law to register and grant practising certificates to Certified Investment and Financial Analysts (CIFAs) in Kenya.
The Institute’s mandate covers all private and public practice professionals under the Investment and Financial Analysts Act (No.13 of 2015).
List of persons to be made Fellows
On the list of qualifications for one to be a fellow of ICIFA institute is a relevant experience of at least ten years and has rendered such an outstanding performance that in the view of the Council warrants the person to be admitted as a Fellow.
The person must also submit a personal profile/citation of not more than 500 words, has been invited into Fellowship by the Institute through nomination by full members of the Institute and has no pending disciplinary issues with the Institute.
Having satisfied the Fellowship and Commendation award requirements, the Council has invited several members of ICIFA to become Fellows of the Institute.
They include FAs Bob Johnson Karina (Chairman of Faida Investment Bank), Job Kimani Kihumba (Executive Director at SIB), Nguru Wachira, Lazarus Akunga Kimang’a, Pius Mungai Nduatih, George Odhiambo Wakah, Dr Jonah Kipkogei Aiyabei (current Chairman of ICIFA), Erastus Kiringa Gitau and Jimnah Mwangi Mbaru (Chairman of Dyer and Blair Investment Bank).
The Council may grant a Commendation to any Full member for their commendable contribution and exemplary performance according to Section 23 of the Investment and Financial Analysts Regulations.
Such a person must among others be a Full Member of the Institute, established according to Section 3(1) of the Investment and Financial Analysts Act, No. 13 of 2015, for at least five consecutive years; has relevant experience totalling at least five years; has no disciplinary issues with the Institute; is of good standing with the Institute; has paid all the required dues and is up-to-date with the Institute concerning subscriptions, and has fulfilled all the requirements relating to and attained the necessary Continuous Professional Development (CPD) points.
The person is also required to submit a personal profile/citation of not more than 300 words.
List of persons receiving commendation
The list of those slotted to receive commendations from ICIFA includes Geoffrey Otieno Odundo (Chief Executive of Nairobi Securities Exchange), FAs Catherine Wanjiku Theuri, Joseph Ndichu Ndung’u, Leah Wanjiru Nyambura, Emlyn James Ngwiri, Duncan Elly Ochieng, Margaret Muthoni Kibera, William Irari Kamau, Solomon Thuo Ngahu, Dr Nicholas K. Letting, Edwin Nyaga Njamura, Einstein Kihanda Njuguna, Charity Muthoni Muya and Diana Muthoni Muriuki-CEO of ICIFA Council.
The Institute has in the past alerted the public that there are persons in the public domain fraudulently offering the services of investment and financial analysts without being registered and authorised to practice as such under the Investment and Financial Analysts Act No. 13 of 2015, Kenya.

It is globally affiliated to the Association of Certified International Investment Analyst (ACIIA) based in Switzerland, the African Securities Exchange Association (ASEA) and the Association of Professional Societies in East Africa (APSEA).
The examination body for Certified Investment and Financial Analysts Examination is KASNEB.
