International Business Machines(IBM), a US multinational technology company headquartered in Armonk, New York, with operations in over 170 countries, has named Saad Toma as its new General Manager for the Middle East and Africa business.
He replaces Takreem El-Tohamy, who has been appointed as General Manager, Global Strategic Sales the tech firm.
IBM Turkey to be also headed by Toma
Toma packs in over 30 years of experience working for IBM in several countries. He will also be responsible for the IBM operations in Turkey.
According to Martinez Alonso, IBM General Manager for Europe, Middle East and Africa, Saad has a highly regarded reputation for leading high performing teams and enabling clients with their transformation journeys.
Toma has in the past led the IT firm’s Global Technology Services (GTS) business in the Middle East and Africa between-2011-2016.
He has previously been General Manager, GTS in the Asia Pacific, where he was responsible for guiding digital transformation through the hybrid cloud, data and artificial intelligence for clients.
He has also been Global Chief Operating Officer of GTS- in charge of GTS business operations and supporting clients requirements.
According to Toma, technology adoption is critical to any successful business and a driver for economic growth and development.
Toma is expected to lead the tech company’s Middle East and Africa teams to work with clients and governments to assist them leverage on the company’s AI Solutions, Hybrid Cloud, and ecosystem partners to transform and drive innovation.
