Huawei Technologies has started making 5G base stations without U.S. parts. This is after the U.S. blacklisted Huawei, limiting its access to components like microprocessors and Google services. The company will launch mass production of U.S. component-free stations in October.
“We carried out testing in August and September, and from October on we will start scale production” confirmed Huawei Founder and CEO.
The company expects the production of 5G stations to increase as more countries introduce their 5G technology. According to Techcrunch, Huawei has secured over 50 contracts across the world. Moreover, Huawei will supply 5G network to Countries like Switzerland, the U.K, and South Korea.

Additionally, the Tech giant expects its annual productions for 2019 to ballon to 1.5 million units.
While the company is willing to produce 5G technology among other products without U.S. components, the CEO would still like to use American parts. Ren Zhengfei believes that incorporating U.S. components in Huawei products helps to maintain emotional ties with suppliers from the country.
Zhengfei further explained the company’s willingness to spread 5G technology across the globe. Huawei is considering to sell its 5G technology, including patents, code, and production rights to Western firms at a one time fee. At the same time, he further expressed that Huawei was willing to license its 5G technology to a U.S. company.
