Hisa Inc, a mobile app that allows anyone in Kenya to invest in US stocks and ETFs directly from their phones using mobile money, has been selected to participate in the year-long inaugural hindsight ventures accelerator program
The Mobile app is amongst the Top 10 African startups selected to participate in the accelerator program that is dedicated to early-stage tech start-ups.
Hindsight Ventures announced the selection of ten start-ups as the program’s inaugural cohort following extensive evaluation and considerations. The one-year-long program is dedicated to early-stage tech start-ups and has onboarded a Pan- African pool of start-ups ranging across Fintech, Edtech, Mediatech and Greentech. These include African Data School (Kenya), Heny (Ghana), Chaperone (Lesotho), and Dataleum (Nigeria), amongst others.

The accelerator program prides itself in having an initiative that allows them to work closely with exceptional founders, build scalable solutions for addressable problems and make them investable ventures.
In addition, the start-ups are also set to get mentorship and validation, technology support (over $500,000 in technology credits), industry connections, investor access, market development opportunities, conferences and access to partner events as part of the program.
Hisa App enables users to get real-time market updates, follow market discussions, read business and finance news and listen to hundreds of podcasts. Hisa has implemented systems and policies that ensure transparency and that investor funds are protected as they access international investment opportunities by working with industry regulators.
The company’s plan to diversify its investment portfolio will soon start with the addition of Kenyan stocks and money market funds on the platform to enable users to buy and sell their favourite local stocks.
