HF Group MD Frank Ireri Takes Medical Leave, Sam Waweru to Take Over

The Managing Director of Housing Finance Group Frank Ireri has taken medical leave to get specialised treatment according to an announcement from the Kenyan mortgage finance provider. Ireri will be taking the medical leave with nearly six months left to his contract.

In the announcement, the Board says that the HFC managing director Sam Waweru will handle the daily operations of the Group.

“On behalf of the Board, Management, and the entire HF community, we wish Mr Frank Ireri a quick recovery and look forward to him resuming his duties as soon as possible,” HF Group Chairman Steve Maida said.

The Group’s half-year earnings for the year ended 31 June 2018 dropped 95.7 per cent to Sh6.8 million compared to Sh159 million in the same period last year.

The finance company has been undertaking a restructuring process which has seen it plan to let go nine per cent of its employees as it launches its digital banking strategy.
