The government of Kenya has picked Abdi Bare Duale as the chairperson of its Board of Directors of Kenya Railways Corporation for three years, with effect from the 9th of February 2024.
- •This follows gazette notice no. 2873/2023 which has been revoked, resulting in the removal of Mohamed Abdi from this position.
- •Abdi Bare Duale is a brother to Defence Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale.
- •Muhumud Abdi Mohamed has instead been appointed Chair of the Board of Directors of the Kenya Electricity Transmission Company Limited, for three (3) years.
The appointment of Abdi Bare Duale to this position is therefore revoked.
Under the Wildlife Conservation and Management Act, the Cabinet Secretary for Tourism and Wildlife Dr Alfred Mutua has appointed Dr Yusuf Adan to be a member of the Board of Directors of the Wildlife Research and Training Institute, for three (3) years, with effect from the 9th February, 2024.
The Cabinet Secretary for Information, Communications, and the Digital Economy Eliud Owalo has declared vacancies in the positions of members of the Communications and Multimedia Appeals Tribunal and invite applications from suitably qualified persons for the position of members of the Communications and Multimedia Appeals Tribunal.
The applications were forwarded to the Selection Panel within 7 days of publication of this notice, dated 30th January 2024
The Cabinet Secretary for Education Ezekiel Machogu has appointed Hawo Shanko as a member of the Council of the North Eastern National Polytechnic, for three (3) years, with effect from the 9th February 2024.
