The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) has announced a slight drop in pump prices for the period between May 15 to June 14, amidst the stabilizing shilling.
- Super Petrol prices have dropped by Ksh. 1.00 per litre, compared to Ksh. 5.00 in the April review.
- Diesel will now cost Ksh. 1.20 less, despite expectations that it would get a significant price cut due to cheaper global prices.
- The price of kerosene, which registered a Ksh. 18.68 drop in last month’s review, is down by a further Ksh. 1.30.
The average landed cost for Super Petrol and Kerosene have increased this month by 3.82% and 0.50% respectively. Diesel prices dropped by 0.46%, and are at their cheapest since January.
The price of Murban crude oil has risen by a dollar between March and April to $80.99 per barrel, the highest since January. In last month’s review, the energy regulator slashed prices on the back of a strong exchange rate and fairly stable international oil prices.
Super petrol will now cost KSh 192.84, while diesel and kerosene will cost KSh 179.18 and KSh 168.76 respectively, in Nairobi.
