The Fund Managers Association (FMA) Kenya, has announced the appointment of Fred Mburu as its inaugural CEO effective January 2024.
- The FMA, established in 2008, is a trade association dedicated to promoting responsible and sustainable asset management.
- Its membership is comprised of organizations licensed by the Capital Markets Authority (CMA) to manage funds on behalf of their clientele.
- Fred Mburu’s appointment comes with a wealth of experience, spanning over two decades in the fund management sector.
Mburu previously served as the Chief Executive of Apollo Asset Management, before that, he served as the Head of Investment Services at Old Mutual Investment Group. He began his career at Citi Bank and spent his formative years at Barclays Bank as a pioneer Portfolio Manager.
“Fred will bring not only a wealth of knowledge but also a passion for transformative leadership,” the FMA said in a statement, “His commitment to industry best practices and dedication to shaping a future of Investment Management excellence will make him a dynamic and inspiring figure in the world of fund management.”
