France 24 has become the first 24-hour international news channel to be on a digital free-to-air platform in Kenya following the signing of an agreement with SIGNET, a subsidiary of Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC).
The paris based global news channel says it aims to meet the rising demand for credible and diversified international news among the growing Kenyan middle class. The English programme broadcast will begin on 31 March 2018 at 3:15.
The global news channel broadcasts in English, French, Spanish, and Arabic 24/7 while delivering all-inclusive international news bulletins every thirty minutes with analytical commentaries which provides its audience with context to enable them to comprehend international developments through different perspectives.
The new channel will be accessible in metro areas such as Nairobi, Kisumu, Nakuru, Mombasa, Narok, Eldoret, Nyeri, Machakos, and Murang’a.
The launch comes as international investors continue to eye Kenya as an ideal location for establishing businesses.
The media channel has its newsroom in Paris and 35 nationalities and boasts 160 correspondent bureaus around the world.
