Silicon Valley's Incubator Founder Institute Lands in Kenya

Founder Institute has opened a new chapter in Kenya, opening up its network of mentors to startups in the country. The pre-seed startup accelerator also opened applications for startups to join the Founder Institute Nairobi Accelerator.

Startup founders can apply for the Silicon Valley-based startup accelerator program to benefit from guidance on how to secure funds and land their ideas. Applicants will undergo a collection of aptitude and personality tests focusing on both founders and their ideas to identify high potential founders.

Founder Institute will work with founders to build teams, generate traction, get seed accelerator, and develop products.

Deadline to apply for the Nairobi Virtual 2020 Program is 1 January 2021. However, interested founders can apply for early admission by 27 September 2020.

Meanwhile, entrepreneurs can join a series of online events to learn how startup funding works, where to secure financing, as well as gather lessons on what investors are looking for and where to find equity.

Founder Institute has worked with over 4300 startups, raising over $950 million in funding. The accelerator has a presence in over 200 cities and an estimated portfolio of over $ 20 billion. Some of the startups that went through its program include Udemy, TotalCTRL and Kindara, working with seed companies like Y combinator.

Some of the brains behind Founder’s presence in Nairobi Include CoRD CEO Sheilah Birgen, Ludique CEO Douglas Ogeto and LakeHub Cofounder James Odede and MAma Ventures Founder Kitawa Wemo.
