The Federation of Kenyan Employers (FKE), during its recently held 61st Annual General Meeting (AGM), appointed Mr. Habil Olaka as its president, effective immediately, for a period of two years.
Habil now replaces Mr. Mark Obuya whose term ended.
Before his appointment, the Kenya Bankers Association (KBA) chief executive served as FKE’s vice-president and represented the banking sector on the board.
Habil Olaka holds a master’s degree in finance from the Manchester Business School and a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Nairobi. He is also an alumnus of the Strathmore School of Accountancy as well as United States International University.
He is also a member of the Institute of the Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) and the CFA Institute.
He previously served as the director of operations at the East African Development Bank (EADB) based in Kampala, Uganda.
