Nigerian Startup Farmcrowdy has acquired Best Foods L&P Limited targeting entry into the meat sub sector in the West African Nation.
Farmcrowdy intends to set Farmcrowdy Meat Hubs across Lagos in the second quarter of 2020 leveraging on Best Foods meat processing prowess, thus providing quality meat for consumers.
In this case, Farmcrowdy will own a majority stake in assets, team, and meat supply contracts in Best Foods.
The Nigerian meat market consumes 360,000 tonnes of beef annually thus Farmcrowdy will offer a wider livestock production and processing solution.
Best Foods has a capacity of processing 200 bulls per day making it one of Nigeria’s largest meat processors.
Farmcrowdy intends to provide food security by adopting technology to agriculture. The digital crowd-funded agriculture platform guarantees safe meat for consumption.
