Exotix Capital, a UK based Frontier and Emerging Markets investment firm, has won silver in Institutional Investor’s annual rankings for Emerging Europe, Middle East and Africa Research in the Frontier Markets category.
Exotix jumped to second place after Citi in the rankings, from fourth place in the same survey a year ago.
Institutional Investor’s accolade comes amid significant expansion of Exotix’s research capabilities, with the creation earlier this month of a new Research, Analytics and Data (“RAD”) division, to be headed by Paul Domjan, the founder of Country Insights and former CEO of independent research firm 4CAST-RGE. Exotix also hired Rahul Shah, former Head of Research for MENA at Credit Suisse, as the new Head of Financials Equity Research, last month.
Exotix RAD, through the newly launched Exotix Research Portal, helps to facilitate direct client interaction with analysts and showcases trading ideas and thought-leading commentary produced by the research team every day on over 160 companies and government entities around the world, more than any other Frontier Markets investment firm.
Duncan Wales, Exotix Chief Executive Officer, comments: “We’ve been very focussed on strengthening our research capacity and optimising the utility of our analytics to provide relevant and timely insights to our clients. Institutional Investor’s ranking is particularly gratifying and a reflection of the efforts of the entire team.”
Hasnain Malik, Head of Equities Research, comments: “The Institutional Investor poll is among the best recognised and most credible, independent and comprehensive surveys in our industry. We thank everyone who voted for our analysts and look forward to both deepening and broadening our research in the months ahead.”
