Exotix Rebrands, To Hire Three Research Analysts in Kenya

Exotix Capital, a UK based Frontier and Emerging Markets investment firm says it plans to expand its Kenyan footprint by hiring three new research analysts who will start working in August.

Exotix has been active in the local market through its collaboration with Equity Investment Bank. The firm says the three analysts will cover the East African market and through the firm’s recently created Research, Analytics and Data (RAD) division.

In a statement, the firm said “The analysts will help Exotix in its commitment to enhance liquidity and trade execution services in Kenya. As announced last month, Exotix has established a RAD division, to be headed by Paul Domjan, the founder of Country Insights and former CEO of independent research firm 4CAST-RGE.

The expansion in Exotix’s research capabilities follows significant new hires across the business, including the recent appointment of Rahul Shah, former Head of Research for MENA at Credit Suisse, as the new Head of Equities Financials Research; and Guy Frost, who has held senior trading and broking roles at JPMorgan, Standard Bank and ICAP, to run an expanded fixed income business in EMEA and Asia.

Exotix has also been expanding its corporate finance advisory investment banking business, with the hire of four senior bankers during the past year. To reflect the extended capital markets business, Exotix this month also announced its rebranding as Exotix Capital. This becomes the firm’s new trading name, while the pre-existing registered company names remain.

Duncan Wales, Exotix CEO, comments: “Our firm has considerable momentum across all business areas and we regard supporting the continued growth of the economy in Kenya as a very important strategic opportunity.”
