The court has postponed a pre-trial hearing for two former Chase Bank directors and eight others accused of swindling the bank over Ksh 1.6 billion.

This after the defense lawyers informed Milimani Senior Magistrate Martha Mutuku, that they had not received all evidence documents.

According to Media Max, one of the defense lawyers claims that several documents are missing in the list of documents that the prosecution intends to rely on. Therefore thy were not ready for the pre-trial.

The magistrate has however granted the request while ordering the Director of Public Prosecutions to provide the documents before the next pre- trial hearing on October 8th.

In June, EX chase bank Chair Mohammed Zafrullah and other directors were charged afresh following amendment of the charges by the prosecution. The former directors also include Duncan Kabui, former senior officials James Mwaura and Makarios Omondi. Other companies charged of stealing include Camelia Investments Ltd, Cleopatra Holdings Ltd, Golden Azure Investments Ltd and Colnbrook Holdings Ltd.
