The Royal Academy of Engineering will hold the 2017 Africa Prize for Engineering Innovation awards event and announcement on Tuesday 23rd May, 2017 in Nairobi.
This is the first time that the prestigious event will be held in Kenya, and the third time a Kenyan finalist will compete for the Prize. Finalists for the 2017 Prize hail from Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa, and Uganda.
The Africa Prize for Engineering Innovation encourages ambitious and talented sub-Saharan African engineers from all disciplines to apply their skills to develop scalable solutions to local challenges. 16 talented entrepreneurs from Kenya, Cameroon, Mozambique, Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania and Uganda have been shortlisted for the final award, and will all be attending the event. The four chosen finalists will pitch their ideas to a live audience and panel of expert judges, who will in turn choose the winning idea.
