Ethiopia is set to receive KSh5 billion from the United States, in support of its reforms that seek to empower the private sector.
Through its newly created International Development Finance Corporation, the US funding will spread across the telecommunication, geothermal energy, logistics and sugar sectors, lasting between three and five years.
In December last year, Ethiopia received a $388 million (KSh39 billion) grant from Germany, also meant for reforms to promote private investment, sustainable economic development, and direct budgetary support.
Furthermore, the US also offered another financial support to the country in mid February this year, for political reforms.
