Kenya Power has appointed Eng. Rosemary Oduor as the new acting managing director of the company with effect from today, following the resignation of Bernard Ngugi who has held the position since October 2019. Prior to her appointment, Eng Rosemary served as the General Manager-Commercial Services & Sales at the power company.
The new MD is a highly skilled professional and she is registered with the Engineers Board of Kenya. She joined Kenya Power in 1991 and rose through the ranks to senior executive roles. Eng Rose holds a Bachelor of Technology Degree in Electrical Engineering from Moi University and an MBA from the University of Nairobi.
Kenya power has encountered leadership challenges in recent months which have affected the company’s financial performance. In July 2020, the company appointed five new board members as replacements for five others who resigned in unclear circumstances.
