East Africa Breweries Limited (EABL), was last week feted at the Employer of Choice Awards organized by African recruitment specialists, Global Career Company. The listed beer maker won the Best Graduate Employer award under the graduate management category and came second in the Corporate Social Responsibility category.

“To be career ready in our ever-changing global economy requires adaptability and a commitment to lifelong learning, along with mastery of key academic, technical and workplace knowledge, skills and dispositions that vary from one career to another and change over time as a person progresses along a developmental continuum. Our reputation as an employer brand is gaining amazing momentum and a sure path of success story in engaging and leveraging the best talent in the market to guarantee our future growth plans” said Kenya Breweries Limited (KBL) Head of Talent Engagement, Nicholas Kasidhi.

Careers in Africa Employer of Choice awards are the first Pan-African employer attractiveness studies that bring senior African HR professionals and business leaders together to share best practice with peers, meet the region’s brightest talent and recognise leading employers across three events in one location. Using data gathered from Careers in Africa Employer of Choice, a survey featuring the views of more than 13,000 African professionals.

The awards methodology takes company ratings provided by prospective employers across 29 attraction drivers, asking talent to grade organisations against all drivers.

Based on the research, EABL has exemplified a remarkable organizational excellence having been voted one of the top two companies in Africa in the following areas: Employer of Choice 2015, Leadership & Management, Corporate Social Responsibility and a leading FMCG in the region. Last year, EABL was voted “Best Company to Work for” in the inaugural Deloitte awards in Kenya while Uganda Breweries Limited (UBL) clinched the second position among the Best Employers of the Year in Uganda.
