Diamond Trust Bank (DTB) has unveiled a KSh1.6 billion advance aid to aid Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), a move that seeks to ease harsh economic conditions presented by the COVID-19 pandemic through the year 2020 and into 2021.
According to Board chairman Linus Goth, of the KSh1.6 billion, 30% will go to MSMEs led by women, youth and persons living with disability.
The bank has called upon business owners to take advantage of the aid for any financing needs, including term loans, working capital, or asset financing. This will be in addition to other measures taken to help businesses get back on their feet by replenishing their working capital, aiding the acquisition of business assets and recovery from the coronavirus pandemic’s impact.
DTB is among the lenders selected by the National Treasury to provide financing for Kenyan MSMEs under the Credit Guarantee Scheme.
