    DTB Q1 Earnings jump 9% to Sh 2.9 Billion

    Diamond Trust Bank recorded a profit after tax of Ksh2.9 Billion in the first Quarter of 2019, a 9% increase, from the Ksh2.7 Billion recorded in the same period in 2018.

    Net interest income for the period declined6.6% to Ksh4.5 Billion while its net interest income rose 15.3% to Ksh1.5Billion.

    Key Highlights

    • •Loan provisions went down by 61.5% to Ksh268.4 Million.
    • •Investment in government securities went up by 5.3% to Ksh125.7 Billion.
    • •Net loans went down by 2.9% to Ksh188.6 Billion.Deposits went up by 1.3% to Ksh275.3 Billion.
    • •Total assets grew marginally by 0.7% to Ksh 370.1 Billion.

    “Our focus on the SME sector, in particular, and commitment to enhancing access and convenience for customers through our branch and agency banking networks and alternate, digitally- anchored channels has helped support our growth,” said DTB’s Managing Director, Ms. Nasim Devji.
