    DTB's Share Price Hits Four-Year High, Uchumi Surges Again as Co-op Leads Friday's Midday Turnover

    Friday Midday Market Update (1:30 PM EAT)

    Trading held steady on Friday with Co-operative Bank's share price pushing to KSh 25.20, a new all-time high. The counter led the session in both volume at 4.22 million shares and turnover at KSh 105.67 million.

    • •Uchumi Supermarkets extended its sharp run to KSh 0.48, now up 182% Year To Date (YTD).
    • •DTB reached a new 52-week high of KSh 118.00, the strongest level since February 2020, and is up 67% YTD.
    • •By early afternoon, total foreign buys stood at KSh 14.166 million against KSh 14.998 million in sells. Total NSE turnover was KSh 321.882 million.

    BAT Kenya led foreign buys at KSh 7.02 million with no sells recorded. Stanbic led foreign sells at KSh 8.169 million with no buys.

    Top gainers were Uchumi at +9.09 percent, Africa Mega Agricorp at +6.51 percent, and Eveready at +3.85 percent.

    The main losers were TPS Serena at –7.81 percent, Sameer Africa at –4.53 percent, and ScanGroup at –4.26 percent. The NASI inched up 0.02 percent at midday.

    Two tea producers released half-year results this morning. Kapchorua Tea posted a 422 percent profit increase to KSh 95.2 million, though turnover fell 24 percent to KSh 829.9 million. Williamson Tea cut its loss to KSh 10.1 million from KSh 122.4 million as revenue slipped 14.8 percent to KSh 1.69 billion.
