Development partners have pledged $234 million towards Zimbabwe’s fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. As of 28th January 2021, disbursements by development partners stand at $119 million.
Finance Minister Mtuli Ncube says the support, in both cash and kind, has been targeted at eight pillars of the country’s response plan, including infection prevention and control, case management and procurement of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Additionally, Zimbabwe has received $49 million from the Global Fund to mitigate the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on HIV, tuberculosis, and malaria programs. Of the $45 million, $17.5 million worth of equipment has been delivered, with $12.5 million deliveries underway.
