    The benchmark NSE 20 Share Index shed 54.09 points to stand at 3954.54. All Share Index (NASI) edged 0.84 points lower to stand at 144.77. The NSE 25 Share Index was down 43.58 points to settle at 4142.66.

    Today’s Turnover rose to Kes.890 Million from yesterday’s Kes.656Million, the number of Shares traded stood at 29M against 21M posted yesterday which represents a 38.77% increase.

    Market Capitalization was down by 0.57% losing KES 11.77Bn in market value.

    Foreign activity represented 42.56% with local activity representing 57.44%. Foreign transactions were a net sale.

    Equity Bank, Safaricom and KPLC were the main movers exchanging 24.27Mn shares, an 83.22% of the day’s transactions.

    Manufacturing Sector Index was up 0.49% with Eveready recovering 10.64% in value. Unga Group gained 2.94% moving 600 shares at an average of KES 35.00 from KES 34.00. Flame Tree was the sector main loser ticking 6.20% lower.

    Insurance Sector Index turned green, up by 1.09% with Liberty Insurance trading at KES 20.50 from KES 19.25. Britam moved 87,600 shares settling at KES 13.65 (-1.09) while the counter lost 3.87% w/w.

     The Bond Market

    Bond market had an improved transaction with a total of 7 deals with a turnover of KES 0.14Billion (+1,130.91%)

    The Kenya shilling gained against the US Dollar by 0.007% to Ksh 102.24 from yesterday’s Ksh 102.32

    EAC Markets:

    Uganda: The USE ALSI declined 0.43 percent to close at 17489.12 while USE LSI remained constant to close at 406.58. A total of 21,451 shares were traded today. Total turnover came to a close of UGX 5.09mn.

    Rwanda: The USE RSI and RSE ALSI remained constant to close at 146.99 and 130.62.  Tanzania: The DSEI gained 0.41 percent to close at 2,303.28 while DSE TSI shaved off 0.13 percent to end the day at 4,502.85. Africa Barrick Gold gained 8.23 percent to close at TZS 5,390.00, while CRDB Bank dropped 1.23 percent to close at TZS 400.00. Total volumes were recorded at 81,231 shares. Total turnover closed at TZS 41.51mn.
