Craft Silicon’s Little' Launches in Kisumu Its Environs

Craft Silicon has announced that taxi hailing service, Little Powered by Safaricom is now available in Kisumu and the surrounding Towns.

The launch comes eleven months since the hailing service was officially unveiled in Nairobi last year. The service is now available in three major towns, Nairobi, Mombasa and Kisumu with a planned launch in Eldoret and Nakuru before the end of this year.

“Despite operating in a highly competitive environment, we have had a steady growth of the service. Our expansion plan has been driven by demand from customers and we wish to see other regions in Kenya enjoy Little,” said Kamal Budhabhatti, Chairman Craft Silicon. “We are also pleased to announce that for the next three months customers in Kisumu will enjoy discounted rides of Kes25 per Km.”

So far, the Little App has hit 140,000 downloads and has seen over 4,000 drivers sign up. Little has also signed up 140 corporates with another 80 expected to be come on board in the next six months.

Customers can access Little Services by downloading the App from their Android play store, Windows phone store or iPhone App store. The service can also be accessed by non-smartphone users by simply dialing *826#.

Other key distinguishing features of Little include free Wi-Fi – powered by Safaricom and Live fare through which customers can monitor their taxi charges real time as they ride. Little also has a Lady Bug category with professional lady drivers to ensure women’s safety on the road – a first in Kenya and Africa.

The app also features a corporate option though which businesses can offer service as a convenient corporate taxi option for their employees. A corporate dashboard enables businesses track and manage employee rides down to department level, while users can easily switch between personal and corporate rides on the app.
