Conduit, a cross-border payments platform leveraging stablecoins, has partnered with Onafriq, Africa’s largest digital payments network, to enhance instant cross-border payments and treasury management on the continent.
- •The partnership will integrate Conduit’s global stablecoin infrastructure with Onafriq’s existing payment network, which spans more than 40 African countries and connects one billion mobile money wallets, 500 million bank accounts, and over 400,000 agents.
- •The collaboration, announced on the sidelines of the Africa is expected to accelerate same-day payments across multiple markets, bypassing traditional settlement systems such as SWIFT, which often take days to process transactions.
- •Conduit’s platform allows businesses to open multi-currency accounts and manage global payments more efficiently, combining blockchain-based stablecoins with traditional banking rails.
“Onafriq is a global poster child for the impact a fintech can have in a developing market, offering fast, reliable, and accessible money movement in Africa, which has not been served well by traditional banking options,” said Kirill Gertman, founder and CEO of Conduit.
“Their impact is clear, and it can only be amplified by the power and potential of stablecoins. It is exciting to see a company of their scale recognize this, and we look forward to supporting their vision,” he added.
Since its 2023 launch, Conduit has expanded its presence in Africa, citing an 80% increase in regional customers using its platform between Q3 and Q4 of 2025. The company operates across Latin America, Africa, and Asia, with compliance controls and high liquidity designed for cross-border transactions.
The integration with Onafriq is expected to provide merchants and businesses with faster, more reliable access to local and international payment methods while supporting broader adoption of digital and stablecoin-enabled transactions.
“Conduit’s infrastructure will help us move toward streamlining our global treasury management through stablecoins and drive faster payouts for our customers,” said Onafriq’s Group Chief Product and Innovation Officer, Luke Khohere.
Onafriq, founded in 2010, operates as a “network of networks,” offering cross-border payments, collections, card issuing and processing, agency banking, foreign exchange, and treasury services. It maintains offices in ten African countries and additional locations in the UK, US, and China. Its services target enterprises, banks, fintechs, mobile network operators, and development organizations, aiming to simplify domestic and cross-border payments across the continent.
