The Competition Authority of Kenya (CAK) has announced the full operationalization of the E-filing portal from September 1, 2020 it will cease receiving physical applications. Therefore, all technical services; filing merger and exemption applications, registering restrictive trade practices, abuse of buyer power, and consumer complaints, will be via the E-filing portal.
In a statement, CAK says that it has been receiving and processing applications through the Case Management Systems (CMS) “E-filing portal” since July 1, 2019. CAK lauds the automation process saying it has improved efficiency by reducing the time taken to process files.
Furthermore, the E-filing portal has allowed stakeholders to track the status of the application in real time.
CAK is mandated to promote effective competition in markets and prevent misleading market conduct throughout Kenya.
