The CMA has licensed AKN Investments Limited as an investment adviser under the Capital Markets Act and Regulations.
The approval brings the number of investment advisors authorized by the Capital Markets Authority to 18.
The AKN Investments Limited team includes specialist investment advisors with extensive product and industry knowledge, who have harnessed this to forge deep customer relationships, robust value systems of transparency, efficiency and a drive to innovate.
Angela M. Gachui is the AKN Investments Limited Board of Directors Chairperson and an Independent Non-Executive Director.
Other members of the AKN Investments Limited Board include Wambui Mutungi and Alex Ngaine, who is also the firm’s Chief Executive Officer.
The management team also includes Mathangani Kariuki-Director, Interest Rates; Niki Mehta – Strategy and Innovation Manager and Andrew Gachanja-Risk and Compliance Officer.
The Investment advisory firm purpose to enable individuals and organizations to gain financial knowledge, assess risks and make informed decisions aimed at maximizing returns on investments.
CMA requirements for an investment advisor license
According to licensing requirements of CMA, an investment advisor must have a share capital and reserves of not less than KSh 2.5 million at any time during the license period.
An investment adviser must maintain a liquid capital of KSh 1 Million or 8% of its total liabilities, whichever is higher.
CMA rules also limit the size of all clients ‘portfolio managed under the investment adviser’s license to not more than KSh 10 Million.
